On the morning of March 19, a delegation led by Dmitry Petrov, Deputy Consul General of the Russian Federation in Wuhan, visited Chongqing Normal University. Margarita Karatygina, Vice Rector of the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and Olga Loseva, Dean of the Teacher Training Institute, accompanied the visit. Zhang Yan, Secretary of the University Party Committee, warmly met with the guests, and Huang Yongyi, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting.

Zhang Yan extended a warm welcome to Dmitry Petrov and his entourage. She introduced the university’s development history, educational characteristics and achievements in international exchanges, reviewed the recent cooperation and exchanges between the university and relevant Russian universities, and highlighted the construction progress and future plans of the Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Chongqing Normal University. She noted that the current China-Russia Year of Education provides a valuable opportunity. The university attaches great importance to its strategic cooperation with the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory and is committed to building the Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory into a flagship project in China-Russia educational cooperation, contributing CQNU’s efforts to deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges and enhancing the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Dmitry Petrov thanked the university for the warm reception and spoke highly of its achievements in cooperation with Russia. He stated that with the high attention from the governments of both countries and the joint efforts of high-quality educational resources and expert teams, the Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory boasts broad and promising development prospects. The Russian Consulate General in Wuhan will fully act as a bridge and bond, firmly support practical cooperation between Chongqing Normal University and Russian universities and cultural institutions, and elevate bilateral exchanges in education, art and other people-to-people fields to a new level. During the meeting, Margarita Karatygina held in-depth discussions with the university on the future development plan of the Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
After the meeting, Dmitry Petrov and his delegation visited the International College of Chinese Language and Culture. They went deep into classrooms and cultural experience zones, watched students’ ethnic dance performances, and experienced Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting and tea art. They spoke highly of the university’s innovative exploration and remarkable achievements in inheriting and internationally promoting Chinese culture.

Principals from the University Party and Government Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and the International College of Chinese Language and Culture participated in the event.
