On March 18, 2026, the Chongqing leg of the themed events for the China-Russia Year of Education was launched in Chongqing. Meanwhile, the inauguration ceremony of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Chongqing Normal University was held.

As the only educational institution co-built with overseas partners worldwide in the 160-year history of the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the conservatory held a concert on a cruise ship on the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers at Chaotianmen that evening. Chinese and Russian musicians performed classic pieces together, integrating Eastern and Western arts with Bayu culture.

The conservatory offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It plans to recruit 100 new undergraduate students from 19 provinces this year, and graduates will receive certificates from both Chinese and Russian institutions. To date, Chongqing is home to 3 China-Russia cooperative educational institutions and 4 programs, with both sides committed to further deepening educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
