On May 20, a group led by Jin Ling, Member of the Education Working Committee under the CPC Chongqing MunicipalCommittee and Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Education Committee visited Chongqing Normal University for special research and giving guidance to facilitate the construction of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Party Secretary Zhang Yan of CNU met with the group, and the meeting was chaired by Standing Committee Member and Vice President Huang Yongyi.

Zhang Yan stressed the importance of the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and the People’s Government, as well as of support from the municipal special class of member units, expressed gratitude for all supporting units, and introduced subsequent arrangements for efforts insubstantial construction of the conservatory, with firm determination to achieve successful completion of the construction incollaboration with the government, the municipal special class and the Municipal Education Commission.

Jin Ling congratulated CNU for the approved establishment of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory and highly recognized the commitment and achievements of the university at the preliminary stage. She also highlighted the significance of the conservatory in promoting the international presence of CNU, expressed high expectations for future development of the conservatory, and stated that the Municipal Education Commission would give full support to CNU in implementing relevant tasks.

The visiting group also investigated the site for construction of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory, in the company of main principals from relevant functional departments of CNU.
