On May 12-13, 2025, a group led by Party Secretary Zhang Yan and comprising Vice President and Standing Committee Member Huang Yongyi andprincipals of the International Office and the College of Journalism and Media, and other members attended the 2025 Annual Meeting of the SCO University held in Urumqi, which had presence of more than 300 representatives from over 80 universities in 6 member states, including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Minister Huai Jinpeng of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China attended the meeting and made an address.

The SCO University aims to develop high-level talents in urgent need for regional development and promote deep integration of education, talent, industry and innovation chains through multi-lateralcollaboration in education. This year, CNU became included as a member of the SCO University. At the meeting, Party Secretary Zhang Yan of CNU delivered a keynote speech, in which she introduced construction of digital campuses, shared the overall design and implementation outcomes of“1281” digital campus construction, and expressed a strong desire for international cooperation and exchange in digital development.

During the meeting, the group members had in-depth exchanges with representatives fromSaint Petersburg State University (Russia),Peoples' Friendship University of Russia,Minsk State Linguistic University(Belarus),Samarkand State University (Uzbekistan),Tajik International University of Foreign Languages (Tajikistan) and other foreign universities about cooperation.
