International Students from CNU Achieved Outstanding Performance in 2025 ChineseBridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe – Story-telling Contest Southwest Preliminary Round

On April 20, the 2025 ChineseBridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe– Story-telling Contest Southwest Preliminary Round was held in the Music Hall of CNU’s Alumni Hall, with 187 foreign contestants coming from over 40 countries and studying in around 30 universities in Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and other places. Among the contestants, a Rwandan student named Yang Zhen from the International College of Chinese Language and Culture, CNU was successfully shortlisted for the final.

A pair of Vietnamese students from the College of Liberal Arts, CNU told their stories of growing in China in the form of a talk show, and received the award for outstanding style.

The contest was hosted by Dai Luke, the Global Champion of the 19th ChineseBridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students and an alumnus of CNU.

In the address from Party Secretary Zhang Yan of Chongqing Normal University, she highlighted that the ChineseBridge series Chinese proficiency contests provided a good platform for foreign students to know China, served as a window for nations around the world to understand each other, and contributed positively to the mutual understanding and common progress of people from different countries and of varied cultural backgrounds.
