On August 30, the University held a ceremony for the trip to theWorld University Championships Beach Sports, with presence of Vice President Yang Ru’an who is also a member on theStanding Committee of the University Party Committee and Chairman of the Sports Committee, beach volleyball players, the coach, the secretary of the accompanying group, leaders from the Office for International Cooperation and Exchanges and the Sports and Health Science College.

At the ceremony, Yang Ru’an expressed high expectations for the players, stating that it was an honor of the team and the College to participate inthe championship, and specially reminded the members of disciplines and safety during the trip; Zheng Hua, the team coach and a teacher from the Sports and Health Science College introduced preparations made; Chief Cha Zhi of the Office for International Cooperation and Exchanges carried out pre-trip training.

The 2024 World University Championships Beach Sports is to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 2-8, 2024. Participating teams from China as selected by FUSC include the men’s beach volleyball team of Chongqing Normal University, the women’s beach volleyball teams of Southwest University and the Ocean University of China, and the men’s beach football team of the Central South University. The team from Chongqing Normal University will be led by Prof. Yang Ru’an.
