On August 16, Party Secretary Zhang Yan of the University, together with Vice President and CPC Standing Committee Member of the University, met with a group led byVladimir Imamovich Norov,Chairman of Central Asia Association for Artificial Intelligence, the former Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs ofUzbekistan.

During the meeting, Zhang Yan introduced Chongqing Normal University to the members of the visiting group, and highlighted the expectation for further cooperation with higher education institutions inUzbekistan in line with the joint statement published by the heads of the two states in January.

Vladimir Imamovich Norov expressed gratitude for the reception, and agreed upon the proposal of Zhang Yan on deeper exchanges in higher education, stating that he would, after return to his country, actively advance connection with Chongqing Normal University and urge orderly implementation of consensuses reachedbetween the parties.
