On August 15, the Thematic Forum on Digital Development of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum was held in Chongqing, with participation of more than 230 Chinese and foreign guests from 30 countries, including Vice Chairman Shapkat of the All-China Youth Federation,Deputy Minister Wang Jiangping within the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology,Director Changhee Lee of the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia, Deputy Secretary Li Mingqing of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and other guests that attended the forum and made speeches, and Assistant Director-General Mia Seppo for Jobs and Social Protection at the International Labor Organization who made a video address. The forum was presided over by Secretary Long Dongge from Chongqing Municipal Party Committee.

Deputy Party Secretary and President Wang Guoyin of the University, as a specially invited guest, led a team consisting of major leaders from the Office for International Cooperation and Exchanges to the forum, and exchanged and discussed with experts and scholars from home and abroad on“Skills and Industries in the Era of AI”. At the forum, Prof. Wang Guoyin made a keynote speech titled“Discussions on Large-scale AI Models”, sharing the milestones in AI development and his reflection on general intelligence research.

After the forum, Wang Guoyin had in-depth exchange withVladimir Norov, Chairman of Central Asia Association for Artificial Intelligence, the former Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, on cooperation of the University in artificial intelligence and higher education.

The Thematic Forum on Digital Development, as one of the four thematic forums of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum was intended to promote international cooperation in youth development, facilitate positive interactions between digital technologies and youth development, support the implementation of the UN 2023 Sustainability Agenda, and offer advice and suggestions for win-win cooperation.
