On March 19, the Fourth Meeting of the Joint Management Committee for Sino-British Cooperative Education Program in Bioscience between Chongqing Normal University and Edge Hill University was held in the form of an online video conference, with the presence of President Meng Dongfang, Vice President Yang Ru’an, Vice President Lu Yuanquan of Chongqing Normal University and Pro Vice-Chancellor George Talbot of Edge Hill University, as well as leaders from the teaching affairs offices, the finance offices and the international offices of both universities and from the Bioscience College. At the meeting, President Meng Dongfang extended gratitude to Edge Hill University for dispatching teachers to Chongqing for teaching and organizing students to Britain for summer camps, as well as for full commitment to the cooperative program, shared new achievements of Chongqing Normal University in the past year with respect to biology discipline development, scientific research and social services, among other aspects, and expressed expectations for further cooperation between the two universities. He also invited staff members and students in Edge Hill University to attend Chongqing Normal University’s celebration of its 70th anniversary.George Talbot thanked Meng Dongfang for the invitation, greeted Chongqing Normal University for the 70th anniversary, shared what Edge Hill University had done in the past year for the cooperation between the universities, recognized achievements made by the two sides through joint efforts, and invited teachers and students in Chongqing Normal University to Edge Hill University for exchange and study. A report was also delivered by Vice President Zhang Tao of the Bioscience College, CNU on the operation of the program in the previous year, followed by in-depth discussions on matters concerning both sides and exchanges on multiple topics.
