From May 26 to 29, Zhou Xuexin, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, led a delegation to Sri Lanka for exchange activities. This marks the university's first overseas venture to conduct local Chinese teacher training.

On May 26, our university held talks with the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, on issues of China-Sri Lanka educational cooperation. Zhou Xuexin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chongqing Normal University, and Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, attended the meeting. Mou Yingxue, Dean of the College of International Chinese Language and Culture, and the Chinese and Sri Lankan Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Kelaniya participated in the talks. Wu Hongyuan, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, reported on the work achievements of the Confucius Institute.

On May 27, the "Sri Lanka Local Chinese Teacher Training," organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education (China) and co-hosted by Chongqing Normal University and the National Institute of Education of Sri Lanka, commenced in Colombo. The three-day training attracted 70 local Chinese teachers.
