Recently, Vice RectorMargarita Karatygina and Head of Solo Piano Performance DepartmentAndrei Pisarev ofMoscow StateTchaikovsky Conservatory visited Chongqing Normal University for exchange.On the morning of June 3, Party Secretary Zhang Yan, together with Vice President Lu Yuanquan and heads of relevant departments, met with the group. During the meeting, Zhang Yan welcomed the group, extended thanks for full support and cooperation ofMoscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in application and preparation for the construction of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and highlightedthe significance of the cooperation between the two universities to the Russia-China cultural exchange, innovation andquality enhancement of cooperative education.Margarita Karatygina congratulated Chongqing Normal University for phased achievements in constructing Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory, stated that the cooperation and exchange between the two universities would contribute to more comprehensive development of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and exchanged thoughts with Zhang Yan on talent development, joint performances and mutual visits between the two institutions.
During the visit, two special lectures were given byMargarita Karatygina for the master class to introduceMoscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in different dimensions, with focus on knowledge relating to the special course, World Music Culture, offered by the university, and Andrei Pisarev presented a piano master class and a piano solo performance concert, which were intended to create an opportunity for on-the-spot discussions with teachers and students, and to bring a high-quality music feast to music fans.
On June 4, Deputy Director Jin Ling ofChongqing Municipal Education Commission,in the company of leaders from Chongqing Normal University and heads of relevant units, met with Vice RectorMargarita Karatygina and her group members.
Since June 2023, Chongqing Normal University has been in exchange and cooperation withMoscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory for the construction of Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In late May, a formal application was submitted to the Ministry of Education for establishment of the Conservatory. The formation of the Conservatory will support implementation of the strategy for invigorating China through education in Chongqing, pioneer educational cooperation of Chongqing with world top education resources, contribute to the strategic development of Chongqing in the new era, and add impetus to the growth of Chongqing Normal University into a high-level normal university.
